As Saturday proved, Arsenal are still missing a vital piece of the jigsaw – and Pedro Neto joining could make all the difference.

The Gunners came from behind to beat newly-promoted Fulham 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium, scoring a late winner through Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal have enjoyed a brilliant window and deals for Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus are already looking like inspired pieces of business.

However, the North Londoners still need reinforcements to solidify their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League and Mikel Arteta reportedly wants a wide player to come in, following Nicolas Pepe’s loan to OGC Nice in France.

Among the candidates is Pedro Neto who, according to Fabrizio Romano, is ‘very keen‘ to join Arteta’s side.

According to The Times, Wolverhampton Wanderers value him at around £60 million but journalist Dean Jones said last night to Give Me Sport that there’s a ‘very high chance’ of Arsenal submitting an offer for the Portuguese winger before the window shuts.

Jones said: “There’s a very high chance that they will actually bid for him.

“He has the technical style that you need to play in the Arsenal system. He also has a directness that I think would bring an edge to the team, so I think that it makes a lot of sense.”

Is Pedro Neto joining Arsenal?

Well that remains to be seen.

But Arsenal absolutely need a winger because, at the moment, they’re one injury to Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli away from being in major trouble.

Arteta has depth in a lot of positions, but not out wide and someone like Neto could certainly add an extra dimension to a team that clearly has bundles of potential, with the Spaniard’s troops winning all four of their Premier League outings thus far.
