Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jesper Lindstrom has spoken with excitement over recent rumours that Arsenal are interested in signing the 22-year-old Danish international this January.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, the Scandinavian winger was asked about links to the north London side, with Arsenal reportedly interested in signing Lindstrom as a way to add more depth to their attacking flanks, with Bukayo Saka currently the only natural right-winger on the Gunners’ books.

Frankfurt are reportedly open to selling Lindstrom for as little as £17m, a deal that could entice Arsenal in January if Mikel Arteta is serious about signing the Bundesliga star, who could be a great new addition to the club in the second-half of the season.

With Arsenal flying and the FIFA World Cup break just over a month away, heading into November top of the Premier League would be an outstanding achievement for the Gunners, and signing Lindstrom as added firepower and creativity will be a smart way to bolster their ranks in January.

Whilst Lindstrom has admitted that he is a Liverpool supporter, the Dane was seemingly excited to be linked to a club as big as Arsenal, with the youngster only joining Frankfurt last summer from his native Denmark, with the attacker seemingly hoping for a Premier League move in 2023.

Lindstrom said: “It’s one of the biggest things as a footballer, so I’m obviously very happy. It is hard not to read along when articles appear on your Facebook, Instagram and other social media. So of course, I read it, but I don’t take it too seriously. The transfer window is not open at all right now, so I’m just giving it my all and waiting to see what happens.”

Arsenal signing Lindstrom would be quite the move from Arteta

Arsenal have enjoyed hit-after-hit in the transfer market over the past 12 months, and signing Lindstrom in January could be another banker if the Gunners can win the race for the Frankfurt superstar, who could enjoy a fantastic World Cup with Denmark and balloon his valuation tenfold.

Indeed, Lindstrom is exactly the sort of player Arsenal should be looking to sign to add to their forward ranks, and with the winger himself happy with recent rumours over a move to north London, Arteta should follow through with this interest in the January window.
