Morgan Gibbs-White has made quite the impression on Sheffield United teammate Sander Berge since joining on loan from Wolves, as reported by the Sheffield Star.
After catching the eye in pre-season, it was a surprise to see the England U21 international leave Molineux during the final few hours of the summer transfer window.
Gibbs-White, after all, appeared to possess plenty of the attributes Bruno Lage wants in an attacking midfielder – an eye for goal, plenty of creativity and feet quicker than a professional salsa dancer after six cans of Red Bull.
And if his early performances at Sheffield United are anything to go by, Gibbs-White looks like a player with potential to take the Championship by storm.
He produced a goal and assist on debut as Slavisa Jokanovic’s side finally produced a performance worthy of their standing on Saturday – battering Peterborough United 6-2 – before lashing a brilliant finish into the top corner during the midweek draw with Preston North End.
Wolves loanee Gibbs-White can turn Sheffield United into promotion contenders
“You can tell they have so many qualities,” says Berge, highlighting the impact made by Gibbs-White and the equally exciting Iliman Ndiaye at Bramall Lane.
“They are young, they move their feet really quick. They have a quick mindset, read the game well and enjoy and flourish by playing up there.

“(Both players) have qualities where they can beat the man. They can set up for one-two and they are very, very good.”
Norway international Berge, meanwhile, scored his first goal of the season against Preston and, after reported interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur came to nothing, appears to have got his Sheffield United career up and running again.
If the Blades can keep Berge fit, and if Ndiaye and Gibbs-White can build on their recent form, there’s no reason why Jokanovic won’t be adding a third Championship promotion to his CV come May.
