Tottenham Hotspur fans would have been disappointed to see some of their players miss out on a chance to perform at Euro 2024 this summer.

Ange Postecoglou brought a new lease of life to the Premier League and a style of play that excited many because it was unorthodox, fearless and all-out attacking.

Tottenham started the season like a house on fire, but ended it by creeping over the line, which ended up costing James Maddison a place at Euro 2024, alongside Pedro Porro of Spain.

But the hardly-seen Radu Dragusin is one of the very first names on the teamsheet for Romania and he has made quite the start at Euro 2024.

Romania shocked many by thrashing Ukraine 3-0 to open their account with a stunning win and Dragusin was at the heart of their success.

The 22-year-old moved to Tottenham in January, but only made four Premier League starts under Postecoglou.

But David Moyes touched upon how ‘a lot of players need time to settle into the Premier League’ and that could be the case with Spurs’ new boy.

The ex-West Ham United manager admitted that he was seriously impressed by what he saw from Dragusin and how he was ‘very, very good’ during the game, as he told Match of the Day.

These are all positive signs if you are Spurs and Postecoglou because if Dragusin continues like this, then he will return to Hotspur Way next season with a spring in his step.

“We have seen some of the Tottenham centre-halves do that this season,” said Moyes about Dragusin making a driving run during the game.

“Maybe a little bit more time in the Premier League. A lot of the players need time to settle into the Premier League. And he has performed really well for his country.

“But that’s what he is there for. We make a big thing about it. But his job is to be a good defender and we are seeing many lacking in those defensive qualities. We have seen a lot of people pass it well and a lot of people giving it away. I thought his defending in the box was very, very good.”

Tottenham Hotspur players at Euro 2024

Usually, Spurs fans are used to watching a number of their star players at major tournaments and representing England on the big stage.

But with Harry Kane no longer at the club, it has now put Spurs in a situation where nobody is repping their colours for the Three Lions.

You look towards Maddison to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s thinking and it might end up benefiting Spurs as a whole.

But, alongside Dragusin, Spurs fans can watch Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in action for Denmark. They play England next. Whilst Guglielmo Vicario is on the bench for Italy. And Micky van de Ven is an option for the Netherlands too.
