Speaking on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel, Lucas Moura has been discussing the initiation ceremonies at Tottenham and Antonio Conte.
Whenever someone new arrives at a football club the tradition is to do some sort of embarrassing forfeit as an initiation, and at Spurs, they have to sing a song for the rest of the team.
Lucas says that it’s always hilarious whenever a new player has to do it, and the Brazilian even claimed that Antonio Conte was made to take part in an initiation, claiming that the Italian’s singing was actually very good.
What’s been said?
Lucas spoke about his and Antonio Conte’s initiations.
“Yes I have, I’m quite reserved, but I had to sing, it was my choice it was a French song, a gospel song so that was easy. Everyone does it, it’s very funny, it’s a good moment for us, when we are having dinner we start to say you need to sing and they become nervous, so it’s a good moment for us,”
“Surely Antonio Conte didn’t have to do one?” The presenter asked.
“Yes he did! It was very good,” Lucas said.

Hard to imagine
It’s almost impossible to imagine Conte doing an initiation song at Spurs.
The Italian is always super-serious and quite intense on the touchline and in press conferences, but it seems as though he’s not afraid to let his hair down behind the scenes.
Fair play to Conte for getting involved in this, and this initiation probably eased the nerves of a number of Spurs players after his arrival in north London.
We can only hope that some footage emerges of Conte’s initiation at some point.
