Some Arsenal fans on social been reacting after it was reported that they’ve identified Sam Johnstone as an alternative to Aaron Ramsdale.
The Gunners are after a new goalkeeper this summer, and while they have been strongly linked with a move for Ramsdale, who has been valued at £40m, they may not go for a cheaper option.
The Athletic claim that Johnstone is available for just £12m, and Arsenal fans believe that this would represent a much better deal.
It has to be said that signing Johnstone for £28m less than Ramsdale would make a lot of sense, and Gunners fans are of the same opinion.
Indeed, numerous Gunners have labelled this move a ‘no brainer’ while one supporter implored the club to use the money they’d be saving on signing Houssem Aouar.
Whether or not Arsenal sign Johnstone remains to be seen, but if they manage to land him for £12m, it would certainly be a popular move.
