Speaking on US TV station ESPN, Don Hutchinson has been speaking about Adama Traore and his potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have been strongly linked with a move for Traore this month. In fact, Dean Jones has claimed that the north London club are ‘confident’ about signing him in the January transfer window.
Hutchinson is seemingly intrigued by the prospect of Traore moving to Spurs, claiming that he could end up playing as a wing-back, stating that nobody in Europe can match him in terms of pace.
What’s Hutchinson said about Traore?
The pundit gave his view on the Spaniard.
“He’d have to learn the position. I actually think he did some of his best work at Wolves when he as playing as a number nine or a number 10. He did everything previously on the right as a winger,” Hutchinson said.
“You think about Conte and you think wing-backs and what he did with Victor Moses and how he turned him into one of the best wing-backs in the country. The end product is always a worry for me, when I watch Traore play I think he’s tricky, skilful, he’s got pace to burn, nobody in Europe can live with him pace wise.”
Unplayable
Traore’s main attribute is undoubtedly his pace, and that means that when he’s playing his best football, he’s absolutely unplayable.
Yes, his end product is lacking at times, but when he’s on it, he can dismantle even the best teams in the world.
Just look at how he dismantled Manchester City on two occasions in 2019/20. His pace meant that Pep Guardiola’s footballing machine were unable to come up with any answers, and Spurs would be getting a real weapon if they can bring him to the club.
