Speaking on The Football Terrace YouTube channel, Dean Jones has shared an update on Adama Traore amid interest from Tottenham.

Traore has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs for months at this point, but it sounds as though a move to north London could finally come to fruition this month.

Indeed, reputable sources have been reporting that Spurs are edging ever closer to bringing Traore to the club, and while Jones believes Spurs are confident about signing the Spaniard, he also claims Chelsea are keen on the winger.

What’s Jones said about Traore?

The journalist shared what he knows about the Wolves attacker.

“Adama Traore is a genuine target (for Tottenham), they’re trying to negotiate terms and a deal with Wolves right now. Chelsea are also interested in Adama Traore though, they haven’t gone as far along the road as Spurs have yet, but Chelsea, while their priority is at left-back, they also have issues on the right. Adama is a player they’ve admired for a while, but there’ll be some competition there for Tottenham even though Tottenham are reasonably confident they’ll conclude a deal for Traore,” Jones said.

Who to choose?

Adama Traore may end up having the choice between Chelsea and Tottenham, and that’s a very tough decision to make.

Traore apparently wants to play under Antonio Conte, and you’d have to imagine he’d get more game time at Spurs.

However, Chelsea are the current European champions, and with all due respect to Tottenham, the Blues have a better chance of winning major silverware in the coming years.

Spurs remain confident of landing Traore, but they need to keep an eye on Chelsea’s interest.
