Donald Trump’s appearance at UFC Freedom 250 drew attention before any clip from the event began spreading, because the night already had the ingredients for a major political and sports crossover.

The event was staged as one of the most unusual spectacles of the year, blending a patriotic UFC showcase with the president’s 80th birthday and a high-profile combat-sports audience.

With cameras trained on the crowd as much as the fights, every reaction around Trump was likely to travel fast online.

One courtside-style moment from the event then gave viewers a reason to connect the night back to a recent NBA Finals scene.

Donald Trump appears to fall asleep beside Dana White at UFC Freedom 250

In a post shared by Call to Activism on X, Trump was shown sitting at UFC Freedom 250, with the account claiming he had fallen asleep during the event.

The clip gained traction because Trump was seated beside Dana White, whose long ties to him have often placed the UFC at the center of his sports appearances. The timing also mattered, with Freedom 250 taking place around Trump’s 80th birthday on June 14, 2026.

The event was billed as a patriotic showcase linked to America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with a large crowd gathered near the White House grounds.

That backdrop made the sleeping claim spread quickly, especially because combat-sports broadcasts often turn celebrity reactions into part of the show.

The video itself does not confirm whether Trump was fully asleep or had briefly closed his eyes. Online, though, the framing formed almost immediately, and viewers treated it as another moment where the president appeared disengaged at a major sporting event.

Donald Trump New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs Game 3 clip made UFC Freedom 250 moment familiar

The reaction grew because Trump had already gone viral for a similar-looking moment during Knicks vs Spurs Game 3 at Madison Square Garden earlier in June.

At that NBA Finals game, cameras appeared to show him with his eyes closed inside a suite. His appearance had already drawn loud boos when he was shown on the arena screen, which made the clip travel even further across social media.

The Spurs won 115-111 that night, cutting the Knicks’ series lead, but much of the online conversation moved away from the game itself.

Trump’s presence, the crowd reaction and the apparent dozing moment became part of the wider spectacle around the Finals.

Freedom 250 gave social media an easy comparison. Different sport, different venue and a birthday setting, but the image was familiar enough for viewers to connect the two clips instantly.
