Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to Twitter to react to a transfer rumour about a Wolverhampton Wanderers player – Adama Traore.

Traore is once again being linked with a move to Spurs from Wolves.

Speculation is gradually increasing and The Telegraph reported this week that Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is a fan and has asked Daniel Levy to sign him permanently, following speculation about a loan to North London last summer.

In terms of athletes, there aren’t many better than the 25-year-old.

Not only is he potentially the quickest player in the Premier League, but also one of the strongest and you could see why the Italian manager is reportedly an admirer.

Here’s how Tottenham supporters reacted to the speculation:

Won’t happen

Phenomenal athlete or not, Traore won’t be joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Because despite an insane physical specimen, his actual footballing ability is in some question.

Zero goals and assists in 18 Premier League outings this season ought to illustrate that despite his speed and power, he cannot optimise it on the field.

Clearly top-flight defences have figured out ways in which to combat the former Barcelona youth and he just isn’t that effective most of the time.

The potential is there and with the right coaching he could be unstoppable, but he’s also 25 and is very much the finished article in terms of development.

He could improve, of course, but he isn’t going to get enormously better and signing him just makes little sense for Tottenham, who need what Traore doesn’t have – end product.
