Adama Traore to Tottenham Hotspur is a transfer rumour that seems to be gathering momentum yet again.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger was linked with a move to Spurs during the summer transfer window during Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign.
And despite the fact that he wound up staying at Molineux, it has been reported that Traore – whom Tottenham wanted on loan under Nuno – is back on their radar.
According to The Telegraph, Antonio Conte, who replaced Nuno at the Lilywhites in November, likes the player and has asked chairman Daniel Levy sign him on a permanent basis as opposed to trying to get him on loan once again.
Realistic?
Well, probably not, no.
Listen, Traore is a good player but he’s clinging on to that like a cat on a curtain.
All he is is ‘good’ but Tottenham need a much higher calibre of footballer if Conte is to take Spurs to the next level.
For instance, the Spain international hasn’t scored or set up a single Premier League goal in 18 appearances this season, despite the fact Jurgen Klopp labelled him ‘undefendable‘ this year.
Besides, the Tottenham manager already has one lightning-quick winger with questionable end product in the form of Steven Bergwijn.
And with the Netherlands international potentially leaving in January, well signing Traore as a replacement is certainly a downgrade and that’s why despite the speculation, he probably isn’t moving t to North London.
