Glenn Hoddle says Daniel Levy did ‘unbelievable’ to get the money he did for Harry Kane following his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich.
With less than 12 months left on his contract, Tottenham were at risk of losing Harry Kane for nothing in 2024, and that to another Premier League team.
That’s why Daniel Levy, days before the new Premier League season started, opted to sell the club’s all-time leading goalscorer for £100 million (Sky Sports) to Bayern Munich – Kieran Trippier reacted to his England teammate’s move.
Whilst Hoddle was seemingly giving Levy a pat on the back for how he handled the situation, he did acknowledge that the timing of it all is ‘too late’ for manager Ange Postecoglou, as he told Premier League Productions (13/08/23 at 1:05 pm).
From the eyes of the Tottenham fans, there aren’t many that have come out in such a good light regarding this deal, other than the man in the dugout.
Hoddle previously stated that he doesn’t think Richarlison has the quality to replace Kane up top, as he dropped the following comment on Levy, which won’t sit well with Spurs fans at all.

“I think, at the end of the day, Daniel Levy has done an unbelievable job in getting the money for Kane under those circumstances,” said Hoddle.
“But, again, it has left it too late for the manager to get anyone else in there.”

Levy’s relationship with Spurs fans is broken
Tottenham will host Manchester United for their first Premier League home game of the new season at the weekend and it’s going to be interesting to see what the mood will be like.
Last season, there were many anti-Levy and anti-ENIC chants.
Whilst the supporters love Postecoglou and what he is bringing to the table, it’s fair to say that the relationship between the fan and Levy himself is now breaking at serious speed.
