Kieran Trippier told Harry Kane via his Instagram story on Sunday that he ‘couldn’t be happier’ after he secured a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich.

The Newcastle United defender, who was club teammates with the record-breaking striker at Tottenham, added that the Premier League will ‘miss you’.

After spending two decades in the colours of Tottenham where he became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, Harry Kane headed for the exit door, for good, on Saturday.

The England captain leaves in pursuit of starting a new chapter in his goal-crazy career, but most importantly, winning trophies.

Now that Kane is at a trophy-dominant club like Bayern Munich, it will only be a matter of time before he starts racking up the medals, as well as giving himself a big chance of winning the big one, the UEFA Champions League.

Nonetheless, this was the message Kieran Trippier posted to Kane via his Instagram story yesterday about his recent transfer.

“Couldn’t be happier for you, Harry Kane,” said Trippier. “The Premier (League) will miss you. Good luck to you and your family in your new chapter.”

Kane watching his England teammates win trophies

What would have been a hard watch for Kane is having to see Kyle Walker leave Spurs and rack up the trophies at Manchester City.

Christian Eriksen left and then won the Serie A with Inter, including the League Cup in Manchester United colours last season, whilst Trippier has a Spanish title with Atletico Madrid.

Given that a certain Daniel Levy wasn’t ambitious enough and didn’t utilise what he had, then he should take a proportion of the blame for Kane not winning a trophy at the club.
