Aston Villa fans could soon be treated to another bargain like Boubacar Kamara as Unai Emery targets Moussa Dembele.
What’s the story?
Well, it was Media Foot in France who revealed that the Villans are interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Dembele made a name for himself at Celtic by scoring 51 goals in 94 appearances, before going on to net 69 goals in 159 outings for Lyon so far.
Crucially, the Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning Aston Villa could sign him on a free transfer just like they did with Kamara, who joined the Villans after his deal with Marseille ended back in the summer.
The 23-year-old has been a roaring success at Villa Park since agreeing to join while Steven Gerrard was in charge, making 12 starts in the Premier League while providing one assist.

In truth, given the fact Kamara cost Aston Villa nothing in terms of a transfer fee, he could even be described as their best signing in recent years.
Based on what Dembele has shown throughout his career, including in France where Kamara made a name for himself, we believe Emery would be getting his hands on a similarly impressive bargain should the Lyon No.9 join for free as well.
Dembele could transform Aston Villa
Not since the days of Christian Benteke have Aston Villa had a striker in the Premier League who was practically expected to score on a weekly basis, but that could change if Dembele arrives.
The 26-year-old has scored seven goals in the Champions League throughout his career, while also winning La Liga with Atlético Madrid – he carries real pedigree as an attacker.
Dembele is a proper No.9 who would give Emery a focal point, potentially transforming the side as his presence ensures the likes of Emiliano Buendia, Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey have someone to play off up top.
If a deal fails to materialise this month between Aston Villa and Dembele, then Emery could soon get his hands on another Kamara-style bargain by signing the striker for nothing this summer.
