Joe Rogan hasn’t hidden his frustration with a key part of the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event.

The commentator and podcast host will be in Washington D.C. as the UFC puts on an event at the White House on June 14.

Several big names are set to feature, including two headline title bouts. Alex Pereira will first face Ciryl Gane for heavyweight gold, before Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje wrap up the card with their unification clash.

“I just feel like, if you’re going to do it, it should have been in an arena. We’re not really trying to get over with any more suits anymore or politicians.”

Daniel Rodriguez discusses fighting outdoors with Joe Rogan ahead of UFC White House

Joe Rogan has raised concerns about the outdoor setup for UFC White House, mentioning everything from bugs to unpredictable weather as potential problems.

He’s not a fan of anything outside the fighters’ control having an impact, particularly when there are two title fights on the line.

On a recent episode of his JRE MMA Show, Daniel Rodriguez agreed with Rogan’s concerns and shared what it’s like to compete outdoors.

“You’ve got to take into account the weather. It’s a whole different environment,” Rodriguez said.

“I have fought outside before. It’s definitely a different vibe, a different energy. I fought outside for Combate Americas. It was somewhere in Arizona. It was a nighttime fight.

“I’ve also fought in the summer in the daytime at a fair once, in California. It was hot as hell, dude. The mat was hot as hell,” he added.

Rodriguez won’t be repeating that this summer, though, when he returns to action. The fight will be Uros Medic’s first main event and marks the promotion’s debut event in Serbia.
