Patrick Bamford returned to Leeds United training on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash against Leicester City – and many are hopeful he could be involved. Now, Tyler Roberts has dropped a hint on his Instagram story.

Bamford, 28, has been sidelined for the majority of the season – managing just six Premier League appearances. In those games, he has had a hand in four goals, scoring two and laying on two assists. His return is pivotal.

Leeds sit in 16th place in the Premier League but with 18th-placed Burnley boasting a game in hand and only two points separating the two sides – the threat is real. Leeds have decided to bring in Jesse Marsch as manager.

While the pressure will be on Bamford to save Leeds when he does return, the mere sight of him in training has sparked optimism on social media. Roberts has dropped an “incoming” hint on Instagram, ahead of Leicester.

Roberts on Bamford: Could Leeds star feature against Leicester?

Marsch spoke about Bamford’s injury in his first press conference, but did not give a definitive time scale as to the potential return of the England international. It might be, that Bamford is on the bench, and given minutes.

Indeed, Roberts’ post suggests that Bamford will be involved. Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Graham Smyth took to Twitter on Thursday, confirming that the ex-Chelsea man was “very involved” in training.

Marsch is expected to field a slightly different formation to the 4-1-4-1 system that Marcelo Bielsa has used. His renowned 4-2-2-2 system could see Leeds deploy two strikers against Brenden Rodgers’ side on Saturday.
