Goal have released their latest NXGN list, and the winner of this year’s award is Borussia Dortmund midfielder and reported Liverpool target, Jude Bellingham.
The midfielder has been exceptional over the past 12 months. He’s now a fully-fledged England international, and he’s made a real splash in the Champions League as well – notably scoring a goal against Manchester City last term in a performance that was arguably worthy of winning Man of the Match.
Bellingham has been listed by Goal as the best player on the planet born after 2003, and he’s beat some stiff competition to this award – perhaps most interestingly, Harvey Elliott.

Indeed, while Elliott is now a regular for the Reds, he could only finish fifth in this ranking, four places behind Bellingham and two places behind another Liverpool target in the shape of Gavi.
The scary thing is that Elliott, Gavi and Bellingham could all be playing for Liverpool together if the Reds get their way and recent reports are true, and if that comes to fruition, the Reds won’t only have three of the best young midfielders in the world, they’ll have three of the best young players on the planet.
Whether or not Elliott, Bellingham or Gavi go on to become superstars remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Liverpool are looking towards having the midfield of the future, and if these three are united at Anfield, they could dominate the 2020s.
