Everton stars Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have posted mixed views after their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday.
The two Toffees stars were understandably a little disappointed after their side struggled to get the better of the struggling Lancastrians, but they both pointed out that there were positives to take from the game.
Calvert-Lewin and Iwobi were both amongst the Toffees’ best performers on the day with the England international grabbing the Merseysiders’ only goal, and Iwobi earning plenty of praise from fans after the game.
The pair are certainly correct in their view that the result could have been worse.
They found themselves 1-0 down early on against a Burnley side that are famed for being hard to break down.
While Everton would have wilted in the past, Carlo Ancelotti’s side battled to the end of the game, putting on a dominant display that really should have culminated in a victory.
This is certainly the type of attitude you want to see from your star players after such a result, and we can only hope that this result motivates them to do even better going forward.
