HITC understands that a host of clubs have come forward to ask about Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as a move to Marseille stalls.

Sources have confirmed to HITC that Marseille has agreed personal terms with Eddie Nketiah ahead of a potential transfer from Arsenal.

Exits look to be key for Arsenal over the next couple of weeks with Nketiah and winger Reiss Nelson potentially on their way out of the Emirates Stadium.

HITC has previously reported that Reiss Nelson is attracting interest from West Ham United with the Hammers keen on the English winger. Arsenal are understood to want £25 million for Nelson.

Marseille struggling to agree Eddie Nketiah deal

Marseille are understood to have offered Arsenal a season-long loan that includes a mandatory purchase of around £20 million.

However, this offer does not appeal to Arsenal with the North London club previously demanding £50 million for the English striker.

Arsenal are understood to have based this valuation on the fact that they received £40 million from French giants AS Monaco for Folarin Balogun last summer.

Roberto De Zerbi was confirmed as Marseille’s manager earlier this summer as the Italian turned down the opportunity to take over Manchester United.

The French giants, under De Zerbi, have been busy this summer with Marseille signing United’s Mason Greenwood earlier this summer.

it appears the French giants aren’t stopping there and are keen to add the Arsenal striker Nketiah to their team heading into the new season.

Marseille remain in talks but clubs are circling

Sources have told HITC that talks are currently ongoing with Marseille to get a deal done for Nketiah this summer after agreeing personal terms.

HITC has also been told by sources with knowledge of the situation that a number of clubs from around Europe have made contact with Arsenal – including two from the Premier League.

Marseille remains firmly in pole position given agreement is in place with Nketiah, but pressure is mounting to conclude a deal.

Last season for Arsenal, Nketiah featured in 27 Premier League games for the Gunners but started just 10 of these, scoring five times and providing two assists.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus labelled Nketiah as unbelievable last season but a move away from the Emirates stadium is looking likely.
