Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Kostas Tsimikas on the club’s official website after the win against Norwich City.

Klopp believes that the Liverpool left-back played well for 80 minutes, as the Reds won the Premier League game 3-0 at Carrow Road last night.

The German told Liverpool’s official website about Tsimikas: “Very good, very good. I would say for at least 80 minutes very good, played good, was involved in all the offensive stuff, defended well.

“Then obviously someone pulled the plug a little bit! That’s normal after that long period, so it was a really good debut. From the start in an away game, he played a really good game.”

How did Kostas Tsimikas play?

Andy Robertson is one of the best left-backs in the world, and it is not easy to replace the Scotland international in the team.

However, Tsimikas did well against Norwich.

The 25-year-old left-back struggled with injuries and lack of playing time last season, and has actually been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer.

However, the former Olympiacos star showed last night what he is capable of.

The 25-year-old defended well, make some important clearances, went on the attack when he got the chance, and also went close to scoring.

However, there were moments defensively when Tsimikas could have done better.

The left-back took two shots and one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 78.3%, took 82 touches, attempted two dribbles, made three tackles and six clearances, and put in 12 crosses.

Robertson will go straight into the Liverpool team when he is fit, but Tsimikas showed last night that he can fill in when he has to.
