Tottenham do have one deal pretty much done though as Middlesbrough wing back Djed Spence will be joining for £12.5million rising to £20million. Spence’s move is so advanced that he has already conducted his interviews with the club’s media channels. (Daily Mail)

Brentford striker Ivan Toney is attracting major interest this summer with Leeds United, Newcastle United, West Ham United and even Manchester United chasing the Brentford striker’s signature – and the Bees are expecting at least one bid. (Daily Mirror)

Arsenal continue to move forward with their bid for Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Gunners have a £30million deal agreed with City and, given that personal terms won’t be an issue, Arsenal want the deal done early in the week. (Sky Sports)

One player Arsenal won’t be signing though is Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez. The Argentinian has been a top Arsenal target for weeks now but is in Manchester to complete a move to Manchester United, reuniting with his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag. (Sky Sports)

England will take on Spain in the quarter finals of the European Women’s Championship. Spain beat Denmark on Saturday evening to tee up a fascinating encounter in Brighton on Wednesday.

Manchester City’s pre-season preparations have taken a hit after John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden were all ruled ineligible to enter the United States. The three players ‘do not meet entry requirements’ – but City have refused to disclose any more information. (BBC)
