Andros Townsend has told talkSPORT that Daniel Levy could bring Mauricio Pochettino back to Tottenham ‘next summer’.
The Crystal Palace winger thinks Pochettino is the ‘long-term’ manager that Levy wants at Tottenham.
Many names have circulated for the vacant post in North London, including that of current PSG boss Pochettino making a surprise return to Spurs, but it’s not going to happen this summer.
And after Levy ‘couldn’t get him this summer’, Townsend questioned whether fans would take the following situation in order to see Poch return for the 2022/23 campaign.
“I think the long-term goal for Levy is Pochettino,” said Townsend. “He couldn’t get him this summer.
“Would Spurs fans take an interim manager for a year and then Pochettino next summer?”

What doesn’t help Levy’s cause as he struggles to find a replacement for Jose Mourinho is the rumours circulating about Harry Kane yesterday.
Sky Sports have reported that Manchester City have submitted a £100 million bid for the England international.
And it wouldn’t be a surprise, by the time the Euro’s end, that Spurs are still without a manager.
That’s a pretty great way to try and persuade your star man to stay because, after a season of decline, that points towards no leadership, lack of forward-thinking, proper planning or hope for the club in the long-term.
