Mauricio Pochettino never seriously considered leaving PSG to join Tottenham Hotspur, ESPN say.
Tottenham chased PSG and at one stage there was genuine belief around Spurs that a return for the Argentine could be possible.
However, ESPN’s latest update suggests that Pochettino was never actually close to taking the Tottenham job.
He apparently didn’t seriously consider leaving the French club, despite the heavy speculation.
For Tottenham it all would surely have been much easier had they landed Pochettino.
The turning point
At the point when Spurs went for their old manager, their search for a new boss had taken a while, but it hadn’t become embarrassing.

However, since failing to land the 49-year-old everything has gone wrong.
Attempts to land Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and, most recently, Gennaro Gattuso have fallen by the wayside.
And Tottenham’s managerial search is now said to be back to square one.
It is now two months since Spurs had their last manager in charge, with the recent debacle putting further pressure on Daniel Levy from an increasingly frustrated fan base.
