Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:25pm, October 16, 2022) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will come towards Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Graham Potter’s Chelsea in the Premier League table.

The former Manchester United star does not think that Arsenal will be able to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title this season despite the Citizens’ defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The Gunners are at the top of the league table at the moment with 27 points from 10 matches, four points clear of second-placed and defending champions City.

Tottenham are third with 23 points from 10 matches, while London rivals Chelsea are fourth with 19 points from nine games.

Gary Neville on Arsenal slipping towards Tottenham in title chase

Neville said: “I still think City will run away with it. Arsenal will come back towards Tottenham, Chelsea, (Manchester) United, Newcastle.. I think City will sort of go away.”

Title race

In our view, Manchester City are still the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Yes, Pep Guardiola’s side lost to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, but any team can drop points against the Reds.

City are only four points behind leaders Arsenal and have some of the best players on the planet, such as Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Ederson.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are going to keep pushing City, but we think that the three London clubs should be happy with a place in the Premier League top four this season.
