Glasgow Rangers appear to be planning a reshuffle with Tottenham Hotspur’s Paul Mitchell and an ex-Celtic scout on their shortlist.

A report in the Telegraph has suggested that Rangers have included both Tottenham Hotspur’s Paul Mitchell and former Celtic scout John Park on their shortlist as they consider potential director of football appointments.

The Gers are on the lookout for a new manager following the controversial departure of Mark Warburton this past week, but the Telegraph reports that that may not be the only vacancy they are looking to fill.

That is because the Scottish Premiership side’s hierarchy are considering bringing in a director of football to work alongside the next manager, and the candidates they appear to have shortlisted for the role certainly seem to boast plenty of pedigree.

Mitchell is currently serving his notice period at Tottenham, the Telegraph reports, having been their head of recruitment since 2014. He also performed the same role at Southampton in the two years prior to his arrival at White Hart Lane as they continued their ascent to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, as well as Huddersfield’s head of football operations Stuart Webber, former Hoops scout Park is also being considered, according to the Telegraph.

Park’s links with Rangers’ Old Firm foes may mean that any appointment may not go down too well amongst the Ibrox faithful, but there is no doubt that his decade at Parkhead saw them uncover several talented players – including the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama – who have since established themselves as key men in the Premier League.

However, the Daily Record reports that Park is set to join Vancouver Whitecaps, so Rangers may face an uphill battle if they hope to bring him in in the near future.
