Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a shock raid for West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek – but any summer deal would allegedly cost at least £40million.
It’s not often you see Tottenham target West Ham players but this Soucek rumour has been bubbling for a few days now.
Football London’s Alasdair Gold suggested last week that Antonio Conte is an admirer of Soucek as Tottenham consider a summer move.
Now, The Express back up those claims by claiming that Tottenham are keen on Soucek.
The report adds that West Ham have quoted Juventus a fee of £40million for Soucek with the Italian giants interested.
You could therefore assume that Tottenham offering £40million would see them land a deal for Soucek this summer.
Yet there is always a possibility that West Ham hike up the price should Tottenham come calling.
Tottenham are not only a London rival but also a rival in the top seven of the Premier League, with West Ham battling them for European qualification.
Selling Soucek to Tottenham would send out the wrong message and you could hardly blame West Ham if they demand even more from Spurs.
Soucek, 27, has been a star in the Premier League since arriving from Slavia Prague back in January 2020.

A major goal threat thanks to his aerial ability and late runs into the box, Soucek has slightly adapted his game this season to allow Declan Rice to go forward more.
It seems that Conte wants a physically imposing midfielder given the links to Sporting star Joao Palhinha and Soucek fits the bill.
When Roy Keane says you’re ‘one hell of a player’, you’re doing something right in terms of quality and application from midfield.
90Min recently suggested that Soucek’s contract talks had stalled and Premier League clubs want to sign him.
West Ham fans won’t want to see Soucek join Tottenham but the Hammers may face bids from their London rivals this summer.
