HITC View: Alfie Devine could solve a key Spurs problem in the future
One of the biggest holes in this current Lilywhites side is the lack of a controlling presence in the middle of the park.
However, Alfie Devine is just that and while there is little to no chance that he starts for Tottenham against Brighton, he could become a regular starter in the future.
Devine’s expansive passing range and technical ability could help Spurs control games in the future, and the absence of that profile of player for years on end is why they are yet to seriously contend for a league title.
While the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal are likely favourites to handpick the best of the best in the transfer market, Tottenham could have an in-house solution to an evident problem.
