CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has reported that former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is not viewed as a ‘priority’ appointment for Tottenham Hotspur, if Antonio Conte departs.
The ex-Inter Milan boss’ future at Spurs has been uncertain for months on end, as his contract runs out in the summer of 2023.
While many would expect Tottenham to make their priority signing a world-class manager such as Thomas Tuchel if Antonio Conte leaves, that does not seem to be the case.
The German tactician’s stock was at an all-time high, after he led Chelsea to their second Champions League triumph in 2021.
Beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the final in Porto, the 49-year-old managed to mastermind the West Londoners to the most prestigious trophy in club football as outright underdogs.
What especially caught the eye was how the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager had done so in a matter of months, after replacing Frank Lampard mid-season.
While Conte remains a top tactician, there remain question marks over the job he has done in the current campaign, with both results and performances not being anything to write home about.
However, it seems as if the Lilywhites do not see one of the best managers in the world as an able replacement for the potentially outgoing Italian.
Tottenham do not consider Thomas Tuchel a priority if Antonio Conte leaves

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been ‘told’ that in the event that Antonio Conte exits, Tottenham Hotspur do not eye Thomas Tuchel as a priority candidate.
Furthermore, ex-Spurs coach, Mauricio Pochettino has been earmarked as a more likely managerial replacement for the former Juventus head honcho.
Well, Tottenham Hotspur fans could be divided over this update about potential replacements for Antonio Conte, as Thomas Tuchel has proven at Chelsea that if there is one thing that cannot be doubted about him, it is the fact that he is a winner.
