Fabrizio Romano has said on Last Words On Spurs that Tottenham Hotspur could still bring Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Wolves winger Traore has been a priority for Tottenham for a long time.
The SkySport and The Guardian journalist has said that although Spurs’ initial approaches have been turned down by the Wanderers, given how the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, works, a deal could still be struck in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano’s comments
Romano said on Last Words On Spurs: “I can’t say that it is off because it is complicated. Yes, I can confirm that it is complicated because they have no agreement with Wolves.
“They wanted to start with a loan with a buy option with a big loan fee, but from Wolves, it was a no. Then they were looking for an obligation under certain conditions, but also in this case it was a no.
“It was really complicated, and now also with Harry Kane staying they don’t have crazy funds because they are keeping Harry Kane at the club. It is not easy, but he has always been the priority, he has always been the priority in the list.
“Maduekehas signed a new contract with PSV, so no chance of Tottenham. So I can’t say that it is impossible now and it is off because I know how Paratici works and till the last minute anything could happen. He has always been the priority, so as of now it is complicated but we will see in the coming days.”

Could a Tottenham Hotspur transfer happen?
Anything is possible when the transfer window is open.
The Express reported earlier this week that Traore himself is keen on a move to Tottenham this summer.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Going by Romano’s comments, it seems that Wolves are not interested in sending Traore on loan.
Well, it does not really make sense for the Wanderers to send an important player such as Traore out on loan.
It is not as if Wolves are desperate for money now and need to get players’ salaries off their books.
90min reported this week that Wolves want £40 million as transfer fee for the Spain international winger.
If that’s the case, then the only way that Tottenham would be able to complete a deal for the 25-year-old is if they cough up that amount.
