French outlet Jeunes Footeux say Tottenham are interested in signing Rennes defender Adrien Truffert – who is currently impressing alongside on-loan Spurs star Joe Rodon, with West Ham and Everton also among his admirers.
Belgian-born France Under-21 star Truffert, 21, has broken into the Rennes first team over the last few years. The youngster has already clocked up 101 appearances for his boyhood club – scoring four goals, laying on 13 assists.
He is largely considered as the long-term option for France’s National Team on the left of the defence. France U21 manager Sylvain Ripoli gave his verdict to L’Equipe, saying the young defender is both “efficient” and “reliable”.
In the summer, L’Equipe also reported that Everton, Leicester and West Ham have all shown interest in Truffert. Now, JF report that Tottenham have an interest in Truffert. Whether that happens this month remains to be seen.

Tottenham interested in signing Rennes defender £17.5m Truffert
Truffert is a wonderful talent. Looking at Tottenham’s current left wing-back options, you would argue he is a big improvement on the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, or Ivan Perisic. The latter had a real struggle against Manchester City.
Sempre Inter claim that Truffert is valued by Rennes at £17.5million. A cheap-ish fee given his potential, and that he is a player already shining as a regular in Ligue 1. But do Spurs really need another left wing-back this month?
Probably not. Perisic still remains a top player, Sessegnon is good competition and Destiny Udogie will return to the club this summer – having rejoined Udinese on loan last summer. An improvement, but Truffert is not a priority.
Perisic will enter the final 12 months of his two-year stay and judging by his performance at The Etihad, he will struggle to earn a new deal at Spurs. Bringing in Truffert would have Spurs with a ready-made replacement.
