Sevilla are now intensifying their interest in the transfer of Bryan Gil after Arnaut Danjuma joined Tottenham Hotspur. A return to the La Liga team will also delight the Spurs forward.
That is according to Mundo Deportivo, which reports Jorge Sampaoli has now asked Sevilla to sign Gil from Tottenham. Los Nervionenses are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements after pulling the plug on a deal for Jeff Reine-Adelaide. The Lyon maestro failed a medical.
Sampaoli appreciates what Gil could offer at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan as he will pose a different threat. The 21-year-old would also appreciate the chance to return to the club. Gil started his career in Sevilla’s academy before later joining Tottenham in July 2021.

Spurs paid £21.5m and sent Erik Lamela to Sevilla to sign Gil during Nuno Espirito Santo’s short spell in charge. But the Nervionenses product has only started 12 of his 30 games for Tottenham to date. He is also yet to score and only has two assists across all competitions.
Gil also spent the latter half of last term on loan to Valencia before Antonio Conte denied Sevilla a swoop. Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan chiefs explored a switch in the off-season. But they now see another chance to swoop for Gil after Danjuma arrived in north London.

Sevilla hope Danjuma’s arrival now sees Tottenham sanction Gil’s transfer
Sevilla hope to agree on a deal with Tottenham over Gil’s transfer to incorporate another youth file for the Europa League. Sporting director Monchi also believes the winger will not need time to adapt to Sampaoli’s plans having developed his skills in the team’s academy.
Los Nervionenses sense Conte could now let Gil leave having signed Danjuma on loan from Villarreal with an option to buy. But Mundo Deportivo does not note whether Sevilla are in the market for a permanent or a loan transfer. Gil is under contract at Spurs to June 2026.
Reine-Adelaide would have joined Sevilla in an initial loan from Lyon that carried an option to buy. Mundo Deportivo reports the value of the clause Monchi agreed with Les Gones at €12m (£10.5m). But the midfielder’s record with injuries worried the La Liga side’s doctors.
So, Monchi is intensifying Sevilla’s plans to re-sign Gil from Tottenham just 18 months after the four-cap Spain star – who Harry Redknapp calls ‘brilliant’ – secured a transfer to Spurs.
