Pedro Porro has wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur since the beginning of January.
At least, that is what Fabrizio Romano has just revealed.
Spurs are heavily linked to signing the Sporting right-back.
HITC Sport wrote on Thursday about how signing the £40 million-rated defender would be a masterstroke by Fabio Paratici.
However, it hasn’t happened yet and the reliable Italian journalist has revealed that the player himself has been desperate for the move for much of the month thus far.
He told Give Me Sport: “There is a discussion with Sporting but the player wants Tottenham, the player has been very clear since the beginning of January.”

Signing Porro – who has been capped by Spain – could happen over the weekend.
The Portuguese outfit have a League Cup final against Porto tomorrow evening and Sporting have requested that Porro be allowed to play in that, something Tottenham have accepted.
It’s a bit of a gamble by the Lilywhites to accept such a stipulation because if he picks up an injury, that’s one transfer they cannot possibly complete – depending on the severity of it, of course.
And it would be very Spursy to let a future Tottenham play a final, only to then get injured.
But as Romano says, the 23-year-old has wanted this to happen for weeks now and it looks very much like it’ll materialise sooner rather than later.
