Don Hutchison has slammed the criticism that has been aimed at Tottenham Hotspur target Fikayo Tomori after AC Milan were dumped out of the Champions League by Inter Milan.
The England defender failed to stop Inter from booking their Champions League final ticket in Istanbul, with AC Milan, led by Fikayo Tomori in defence, conceding three goals over the two legs and failing to score.
But, when the 25-year-old was written off by a journalist and his England credentials were questioned following that loss, Hutchison was sure to defend the player and label those accusations as ‘crazy’, as he posted on Twitter.
Only last season, Tomori was helping AC Milan win the Serie A title for the first time in over a decade, as well as now reaching the last four of the Champions League.
From a player that was seemingly deemed not good enough at Chelsea, he is doing pretty well to prove his doubters wrong in Italy.
That’s why former midfielder and Serie A expert Hutchison labelled an opinion piece about Tomori as ‘astonishing’.

Whether it’s Antonio Conte or Ryan Mason, Tottenham’s defensive problems are there for all to see and big changes will be needed to be made in the summer.
It’s not helpful that a new manager is yet to be appointed, but the transfer rumour mill is claiming that Spurs want to bring Tomori back to the Premier League.
From the player’s perspective, given that Daniel Levy doesn’t even know what the future holds in the long-term, with no manager or sporting director in situ, then it has to be questioned why a player of Tomori’s standing would join them, at this moment in time.
