Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay €40 million (£35.50 million) if they want to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus in the January transfer window, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio in Corriere della Sera.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Bournemouth are interested in McKennie, and that Italian giants Juventus are willing to sell the USA international midfielder for €40 million (£35.50 million).

According to Tuttosport, Tottenham are in talks to try to bring McKennie to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.

Tottenham have been chasing McKennie for some time now with journalist Alasdair Gold saying on YouTube that the North London club’s Managing Directer of Football, Fabio Paratici, thinks that the midfielder is a ‘superstar’.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

What should Tottenham Hotspur do about Weston McKennie?

In our opinion, if Tottenham Hotspur are genuinely keen on Weston McKennie, then they should pay the €40 million (£35.50 million) needed for Juventus to sell him.

It is as simple as that.

If Paratici and Conte are convinced that the 24-year-old is going to make Spurs better, then the North London club should get a deal done now.

There is no point whatsoever in any delay.

Just pay the money, bring the player in and get to work.
