Fenerbahce have reportedly made a €2m (£1.7m) offer to sign Lucas Moura from Tottenham, with the Turkish giants close to agreeing on a deal for the Brazilian attacker.

According to Haber Global, the Istanbul-based side have made an offer to Tottenham to ensure that a deal for the 30-year-old winger can get over the line, with Lucas set to sign for Fenerbahce following the extension of the Turkish transfer window to March 5th.

Lucas joined Tottenham in 2018 from PSG for a reported £23m, yet despite Spurs making a huge financial loss on the South American forward, the attacker has played a major role in the club’s recent history, with the winger’s hat-trick against Ajax still regarded as one of the best moments in the north London side’s entire existence.

Despite being a fan favourite and a huge influence in the Tottenham dressing room, Lucas is now set to leave England after five years in the capital, with a move to Fenerbahce now close to being completed following this latest update from Turkey.

With Lucas’ contract expiring at the end of this season, a return to Brazil was widely reported for the 30-year-old forward. However, it appears that a move to Turkey is now on the cards for the former Sao Paulo star, with Fenerbahce an ideal next destination for the attacker.

Indeed, Lucas is hardly at the end of his career, and although the Brazilian has made just two starts all season, the versatile attacker has the ability and the quality to make a name for himself again with Fenerbahce, who could give the forward the platform to flourish in the Turkish Super Lig.

Lucas will go down as one of Tottenham’s most important players based on his historic hat-trick against Ajax in the 2019 alone, and for the winger himself, a move to a big European club in Fenerbahce is more than deserved for the 30-year-old winger.

As we know, the attacker has the quality to remain in Europe before heading home to Brazil, and Fenerbahce and the Turkish Super Lig could be a good next step for Lucas, who leaves Tottenham a hero and a player that many supporters will love for decades to come.
