Everton are now ready to give Jordan Pickford ‘what he wants’ to sign a new contract with the Toffees. But Tottenham Hotspur have not ruled out targeting the goalkeeper’s transfer.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who states he ‘would not be surprised’ if Tottenham explore a move for Pickford. The England No1 is only under contract at Goodison Park until June 2024. Everton are also yet to reach an agreement with the 28-year-old for new terms.
But Romano adds that ‘what I am told’ is that Everton are planning to hold new discussions with Pickford. The Toffees plan to speak with the 50-cap shot-stopper over the second part of the season over a new deal. Goodison chiefs are now ready to give him ‘what he wants’.

Pickford has faced an increasingly uncertain long-term future with Everton through recent weeks with his contract nearing its final year. The Daily Mail noted at the end of December that he had agreed to new terms. But the Goodison board did not green-light the contract.
Pickford was ready to put pen to paper on a new, five-year contract as he is happy to stay at Everton. Yet the club’s delay had alerted Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham to his potential availability. But The Sun also notes Pickford has told Everton he wants to stay.

Tottenham are targeting Pickford’s transfer as Everton have not agreed a contract
Yet as talks between Everton and Pickford’s camp remain at an impasse, The Sun adds that Tottenham and Manchester United are ready to swoop for his transfer. Spurs and the Red Devils are also willing to double the Sunderland product’s £100k-a-week salary to sign him.
Everton have offered to pay Pickford just a few thousand more than his existing contract in any new deal. While further reports by The Sun claim that Aston Villa are also interested in a move. But TuttoMercatoWEB reports Pickford is Spurs’ top target to replace Hugo Lloris.

Pickford has kept 53 clean sheets to 281 goals conceded in his 197 Premier League games for Everton so far. His tally includes three shutouts in 17 appearances so far this term. The Toffees signed their stopper from Sunderland for £25m, rising to £30m, back in June 2017.
