Ultimately, this is a big blow for Spurs, as the general consensus was that the lethal finisher would have been one of the only players that had the potential to replace Harry Kane, if he ends up leaving.

Sure, not completing a transfer for Evan Ferguson, who has instead decided to sign a contract extension at Brighton is not good news from a Tottenham standpoint.
But the club cannot afford to mope around as a failure to find a suitable successor to Harry Kane could set them back for years on end.
The first step in N17 must be to appoint a manager that can attract high-potential targets to do so, after the club quickly move on from their inability to bring Ferguson to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
