Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni has voiced his satisfaction with life at San Siro. But the centre-half has left the door open for a future transfer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Nerazzurri signed Bastoni from Atalanta back in August 2017 for €31m (£27.5m), even though he had only made four senior appearances. He would also only appear five times at the Gewiss Stadium during the 2017/18 campaign having returned on loan for the season.
But Bastoni has become a pillar of the Inter Milan defence in the years since. He also had a key role in the Nerazzurri backline which won Serie A in 2020/21 under Antonio Conte. But the Casalmaggiore native now only has 15 months remaining on his contract with the club.

Inter Milan have opened talks with Bastoni over a potential new contract which would give the defender a pay rise. Corriere dello Sport, via FC Inter News, reports the Serie A side are offering to increase his basic wage from €2.8m-a-year (£47k-a/w) to €4.5m-a/y (£76k-a/w).
Bastoni gets up to €4m-a-year (£68k-a/w) at present after bonuses and wants his new deal to reach €6m-a/y (£102k-a/w). Talks are now continuing over a potential compromise about the add-ons on offer. All the while Conte is considering a possible reunion in north London.

Tottenham transfer target Bastoni gives a ‘for now’ update on his Inter Milan future
Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has claimed Inter Milan star Bastoni may be a target for Tottenham in the summer transfer sales if Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici remain at the club. The head coach is out of contract with Spurs at the end of this season.
Conte deployed Bastoni in 33 of Inter Milan’s Serie A fixtures en route to the 2020/21 title under the Tottenham boss. He also offered three assists under his compatriot that season. While Simone Inzaghi has started the 17-cap Italian in 15 of his 17 outings so far this term.
Now, Bastoni has voiced his satisfaction with life at Inter Milan amid interest at Tottenham in his transfer. Yet the centre-half also left the door open to a potential departure in the future.
“Right now I feel satisfied,” Bastoni told Sport Mediaset, via quotes by Calciomercato. “I’m fine here. My family is fine here, so for now everything is fine.”
