Spezia have rejected an offer from Borussia Dortmund for the January transfer of defender Jakub Kiwior. The Poland star is also a target of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
That is according to TuttoMercatoWEB, which reports the Serie A side have snubbed BVB’s bid for the centre-half. Westfalenstadion chiefs had hoped to take Kiwior to the Bundesliga in a €22m (£19.5m) operation. But the Aquilotti value the 22-year-old at a greater amount.
Borussia Dortmund are serious in their wish to sign Kiwior this month and edge out his raft of Italian admirers. Juventus and AC Milan have shown an intent desire to poach the nine-cap star from the Stadio Alberto Picco. Yet BVB have edged ahead of the pair after bidding.

Spezia rejected Borussia Dortmund’s bid for Kiwior as the €22m offer on the table was the total value of his transfer. It likely, then, included add-ons that failed to convince Aquilotti chiefs to sell the defender under contract to 2025. He has also played 19 times this season.
Additionally, TuttoMercatoWEB has previously cited a €30m (£26.5m) asking price. But the Liguria outfit’s valuation is more than AC Milan are able to present. Juventus also believed the Tychy-born enforcer was only worth €20m (£17.5m) before he went to the World Cup.

Kiwior’s transfer from Spezia also interests Tottenham and West Ham
Spezia can demand a larger fee for Kiwior’s transfer than Borussia Dortmund offered as he also has interest from Tottenham and West Ham. Milan Live claimed in November that the Hammers submitted a €15m (£13m) bid to edge out Napoli and Atletico Madrid’s interest.
The Irons were intent on reaching an agreement with the Aquilotti, too. But AS notes that Tottenham, Villarreal and Roma have also explored Kiwior’s transfer from Spezia. He even has an admirer in Poland teammate Robert Lewandowski, who spoke fondly in September.
“Listen to me: this is a real player,” Lewandowski stated, via quotes by Citta Della Spezia. “I noticed it during the warm-up before the match against the Netherlands.

“In training, it’s very difficult to see certain things. I asked, ‘but who is he?’ Then I saw him in the match, extraordinary. Really great potential.”
Kiwior made his Poland debut against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League in June 2022. He would go on to feature four more times before the World Cup in Qatar, where he played for all but three minutes of the Bialo-czerwoni’s run to the Round of 16 this winter.
