West Ham are reportedly the favourites to sign Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior, with Tottenham also interested in the Polish centre-back, who has been impressive at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to Milan Live, the Hammers are leading the race to sign the 22-year-old titan, with AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli also in the pack of interested parties, with Kiwior quickly establishing himself as the best young defender out in Qatar this winter.
At the time of writing, Kiwior has played every minute of Poland’s World Cup campaign with the defender keeping a clean sheet against Mexico and Saudi Arabia. The centre-back is expected to start against Argentina tonight in the crucial Group C finale.
Lauded as ‘incredible’ by Spezia’s managing director of football Eduardo Macia, the Serie A side value their star defender as highly as £25m according to TuttoMercatoWeb. And following on from the World Cup, there’s every reason to believe that West Ham will have to pay more for the Polish defender.

Moreover, Tottenham could intensify their interest in signing Kiwior, with Roma Giallorossa claiming that Antonio Conte’s side will contest for the centre-back’s signature in the January window, with many more clubs likely to enter the race based on the youngster’s performances for Poland the World Cup.
Indeed, whilst West Ham leads the race, for now, there’s every chance that a bigger club can make a swoop for Kiwior at any moment. And as a result, David Moyes must be working this week to get a deal over the line for the Polish defender.
West Ham signing Kiwior could revive their Premier League season

West Ham’s league campaign has gone poorly to plan, to say the least, and signing a quality defender with potential will be a big step in the right direction for the Irons. Which is why signing Kiwior will be such a massive coup for the east London side.
After all, Kiwior has shown at the World Cup that he is more than capable of performing against the best of the best and coming out on top. And for West Ham, adding the Pole to the likes of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd is an exciting prospect for the London Stadium side.
