Daniel Levy will forever be a marmite-like figure at Tottenham Hotspur.
Throughout his tenure, many believe he hasn’t pushed the boat out as he should have done, whether it’s under Mauricio Pochettino or any other previous coaches.
But one thing that can’t be argued is that Ange Postecoglou has got the signings he has wanted at Tottenham Hotspur, thus far!
Given his unique style of play, where the fullbacks push up and play as number 10s, which then leaves a lot of space for the centre-backs to defend.
All of that requires a certain type of play to don the Tottenham colours and one player who epitomises it all is Micky van de Ven.
The 23-year-old is the quickest player in the Premier League and was brought in from Wolfsburg for that very reason.
Ledley King has claimed that there are times when van de Ven ‘wants to show’ the opposition that he is fast and he allows ‘people to run him’, as he told Premier League Productions (14/05/24 at 7:25 pm).
Of course, this is the Dutchman backing himself all the way, with King adding that a certain Kyle Walker, formerly of Hotspur Way, doing the same.
You could probably argue that they are the two quickest players in the Premier League today.
Either way, King feels that someone like van de Ven, given the impact he has had, has ‘surprised a lot of Spurs fans’ with what he has done in his debut campaign.

“What surprised me is that not many people seem to know about him,” said King about van de Ven’s signing.
“He is left-footed, lightning and, as far as I am concerned, everybody should have been chasing him for his signature. I am so glad we have got him. He has surprised me this season. I think he has surprised a lot of Spurs fans. I think he is brilliant.
“Do you know what it is, when you are fast, you want to show that you are fast?! Kyle (Walker) is always doing that. I see Micky (van de Ven) do it time and time again this season. He wants people to run him. You have seen Kyle do that, he wants people to try and run him.”
Ange Postecoglou isn’t a happy man
Tottenham suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night and that ended their chances of finishing fourth.
Of course, all the talk was about Spurs helping their neighbours Arsenal in the Premier League title race, which they didn’t get.
But Ange Postecoglou wasn’t a happy man after the game and you feel some big changes will be made in the summer.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if there is a clear out, both in terms of players and staff at the club.
Postecoglou has come off the back of winning the Treble with Celtic. It’s pretty clear he wants nothing less than to just win trophies.
