Shay Given has hailed Tottenham Hotspur target, Roberto De Zerbi, and how he is a possible Premier League Manager of the Season for the job he is doing at Champions League-chasing, Brighton.
The legendary goalkeeper spoke about the ‘amazing’ job Roberto De Zerbi has done with Brighton and how their keeper, Jason Steele, is ‘playing like their striker’ from the back.
Pep Guardiola recently claimed that the Seagulls are the ‘best in the world’ at playing out from the back, which is probably a reason why Spurs are looking at appointing him.

Daniel Levy would have got a flavour of what the Italian is like when the Brighton boss clashed with Cristian Stellini during their recent meeting.
From his fiery character to his outstanding football, De Zerbi is winning plaudits everywhere he goes, including getting a mention for Manager of the Season, as Shay Given shared his thoughts on BT Sport.
“I was with the goalkeeper Jaston Steele at Boro many years ago and he is playing like their striker at the back,” said Given. “He is playing through the lines. He is doing the sky passes into the number six and pinging it to the fullbacks.
“It’s amazing. Going back to the management and the coach, his ethos and his training and what he drills into the players. They play to the press so easily.
“He has done a brilliant job and he has been linked to the Tottenham job, De Zerbi and a few other big jobs. It’s an amazing transformation there as well.”

CAN LEVY HANDLE DE ZERBI?
The Spurs chairman has got rid of one Italian who speaks his mind, does he have the thick skin to deal with another?
Whilst De Zerbi plays attacking football, if he feels the need to say something, he won’t mince his words, and the last time a Spurs manager did that, he got his P45.
But perhaps Levy needs to be told some home truths if the club is to move forward, or else, fans will just remain frustrated.
