Is Christian Eriksen joining Tottenham Hotspur?
Well, that’s what the talk is certainly about.
Eriksen returned to the Premier League in January, joining Brentford on a six-month contract.
The Denmark international is now a free agent once again and Fabrizio Romano reported in May that Tottenham were interested in bringing him back to North London.
The 30-year-old was a Spurs player between 2013 and 2020, before Daniel Levy sold him to Inter Milan for £17 million [Goal].
Antonio Conte was the manager who signed him and with the Italian being at Hotspur Way now, that, combined with the previous Lilywhites connection, makes this a logical transfer.
And according to journalist Dean Jones, the North Londoners do believe they have a real chance of re-signing the playmaker – even if it’s out of their hands, adding June will be a key month in the player’s future.
He told Give Me Sport: “Tottenham are waiting on Eriksen’s decision at the moment. He said he wants a few weeks to weigh up what he wants to do, so in June we will discover what Eriksen wants.
“It’s kind of out of Spurs’ hands at this point in time, but they’re very respectful of him weighing up what he wants at this point of his career, but they feel like there’s a chance and they’re waiting to see.”

This was one of the key players during that exciting Mauricio Pochettino era, the Lilywhites squad that reached the Champions League final and mounted a couple of genuine Premier League title challenges.
Eriksen – labelled ‘unbelievable‘ by Brentford boss Thomas Frank for his performance against Chelsea in April – played a massive role in that and there’s no doubt that the fanbase would be overjoyed.
And let’s face it, they wouldn’t be signing him for the sake of it. Conte genuinely does need a playmaker this summer and it’ll be fascinating to see if it’s the Dane.
