Antonio Conte has confirmed that two Tottenham first-team players are set to miss their FA Cup Fourth Round clash against Brighton [Tottenhamhotspur.com].

Spurs are taking on the Seagulls at home in an 8pm kick-off on Saturday night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the match due to be shown live on ITV4.

The hosts got to this stage with a 3-1 win over League One Morecambe in the previous round, while Brighton sneaked past Championship side West Brom courtesy of an injury-time winner from Neal Maupay.

Spurs are higher in the Premier League table and the home draw cements their status as favourites, but the Seagulls were victorious the last time these two sides met back in January 2021.

Conte will be expecting a different outcome now that he’s in charge, but if his team are to triumph, they’ll have to do so without two players who have featured regularly this season.

Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga.

They have groin and knee injuries respectively but the Italian didn’t suggest when they might be fit enough to return to action.

“Only these two players are unavailable, the rest are available,” said Conte, as quoted by Spurs’ official website.

Given that Skipp has made 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season and Tanganga has made 19, with both players featuring last time out against Chelsea, Conte will likely be disappointed to be without them.

However, Tanganga – who was linked with a move elsewhere in January – struggled in that latest outing, picking up a booking before he was subbed off prior to the hour mark, while Skipp’s absence is less of a concern following the signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski late in the January transfer window.
