Tottenham Hotspur are desperately seeking defensive additions this summer, and new boss Nuno allegedly wants a reunion with Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Conor Coady.

Fabio Paratici may be looking around at the likes of Joachim Andersen, Jannik Vestergaard and Takehiro Tomiyasu, but Nuno may have an idea of his own.

90Min claim that Nuno fancies signing Wolves defender Coady and has asked Tottenham to bring him to North London this summer in a potential reunion.

Coady on Nuno

England defender Coady, who has been at Euro 2020 this summer, looked to be done at Wolves until Nuno came in back in 2017, and turned him into a centre back.

Coady has been in the centre of Wolves’ three-man defence under Nuno throughout the last four years, catapulting him into the England reckoning.

It’s therefore no great shock that Coady is a huge fan of the new Tottenham boss, branding him ‘fantastic’ and ‘brilliant’ whilst speaking to Sky Sports in 2019 – and that may give Spurs hope of tempting him to sign.

“He’s fantastic in everything he does, he really is,” said Coady. “He was brilliant since the day he came in, he’s been absolutely fantastic because, with the way we play, he’s given us new ideas along the way, which has been brilliant,” he added.

Coady on Tottenham’s training ground

During Coady’s time with England this summer, he has spent time at Tottenham’s training ground; a place that could become very familiar to him in the near future.

Last month, Coady called Tottenham’s training ground ‘lovely’ and ‘some place’, admitting that he loves it there.

That’s another potential selling point for Tottenham, who may well move for Coady ahead of the new Premier League season.
