Tottenham Hotspur are now set to loan out an academy player for the season who certainly has big potential.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have begun the season in frustrating fashion as the Lilywhites have won just one of their opening three games and that was a comfortable victory over Sean Dyche’s Everton.
An undeserved 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United and a 1-1 draw against Leicester City have meant that the start of the campaign has not been the desired one for Postecoglou.
Spurs were certainly busy in the summer transfer window and the club may not be done there with an exit seemingly on the horizon.

Alfie Devine closing in on loan move to Belgium
Tottenham Hotspur’s Alfie Devine is set to join KVC Westerlo on a loan deal. That’s according to Gazet van Antwerpen, who state Spurs have ‘reached an agreement’ with the Belgian club for the 20-year-old’s transfer.
Westerlo can sign the Tottenham player as the transfer window in Belgium closes on Friday. Devine has had several loan moves away from North London and is now set for a move to Europe.
This wouldn’t be the first player from Tottenham to move to Westerlo with Hajduk Split’s Luka Vušković, who is set to move to Spurs in 2025, spending time in Belgium.
Since then, Westerlo have maintained a ‘good relationship’ with the Premier League side, which has helped them find an agreement for Devine. The attacking midfielder will have to undergo medical tests and sign the contract for the transfer to be made official.
Ange Postecoglou’s previous comments on Alfie Devine
During the preparations for the current Premier League season, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear had excellent pre-seasons for the Lilywhites but so too did Devine.
Speaking during pre-season, Postecoglou hailed the Englishman as ‘very good’ and a decision would be made on his future sooner rather than later.
“We’ll have a look at it really closely,” Postecoglou told Football.London. “I agree, Alfie has had a really good pre-season and again compare it to last year and he’s definitely developed.
“Part of that is probably because he played senior football last year on loan. We’ll have a close look at what the next steps are.”
The England U20 international was on loan to Port Vale and Plymouth Argyle last season. His deal at Spurs lasts until 2027. He is now set for yet another loan and the Englishman will be hoping to impress.
