Tottenham Hotspur are set to appoint Paulo Fonseca as their new manager in the near future, according to multiple reports.
If the Portuguese boss is to take the job he will be welcomed with a baptism of fire, with Tottenham learning that they will play Manchester City on the opening day of the new campaign.
And in this article we predict Fonseca’s starting line-up for the contest.
Formation: 3-4-3
Fonseca has deployed numerous different systems during his managerial tenures, but 3-4-3 seems to be his favourite and could suit Tottenham’s squad.
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris

Lloris has been tentatively linked with a Spurs exit, but that seems unlikely and if he stays he looks set to remain in net.
Left-wing back: Sergio Reguilon
The Tottenham full-back finished last season in dire form, but proved his quality for much of the campaign, and could thrive in a more attacking role.
Centre-back: Joachim Andersen
Heavily linked with Spurs, the Athletic go as far as to say he is expected to sign.
If Tottenham do land him, then it should be expected that he will come straight in.
Centre-back: Toby Alderweireld
A three man defence may suit him at this stage of his career. He looks the least concerning out of Tottenham’s current central defensive options.
Centre-back: Steven de Vrij

Tottenham are said to be interested in the Inter Milan defender after Fabio Paratici’s arrival (Inter Live). He looks an upgrade on what they have right now.
Right-wing back: Max Aarons
Linked with Spurs for some time now, the Norwich City full-back could be the ideal fit, especially as Serge Aurier looks likely to depart.
Central midfielder: Pierre Emile Hojbjerg
A mainstay under Jose Mourinho, he will surely be an important part of the team under Fonseca too.
Central midfield: Tanguy Ndombele
Fonseca likes to play attractive football and in terms of technical ability there is simply nobody better in Tottenham’s current squad than the £55 million man (BBC Sport).
Left-wing: Heung-Min Son

His importance to Tottenham is clear and they will be relying on him to produce the goods again next term.
Right-wing: Steven Bergwijn
A tough one to call, especially with Gareth Bale’s future uncertain, but Fonseca may well give Bergwijn more chances in his line-up. The Dutchman shows promise.
Striker: Harry Kane
Kane’s future looks set to be heavily speculated about throughout the summer, but Tottenham will not sell him cheaply, and if he remains around – he will start.
