Atalanta now contact Tottenham over interest in signing Sergio Reguilon
According to Calciomercato, Atalanta have held preliminary talks with Tottenham Hotspur to sound out the conditions required to sign Sergio Reguilon. The Serie A side are eager to add a left-back, having not filled the area since Robin Gosens joined Inter Milan in January.

La Dea have turned their attention toward north London as chief scout, Lee Congerton, has a rich knowledge of the Premier League. The Welshman left his position as Leicester City’s chief scout for Atalanta in March, and previously worked for Liverpool, Chelsea, plus Celtic.

Congerton has convinced Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini that Reguilon can now fill Gosens’ void at the Gewiss Stadium. But the cost of an operation is likely to be beyond La Dea’s budget, with the Spaniard’s £48k-a-week salary indeed too rich for their wage bill.
Reguilon has seen a myriad of potential paths away from Tottenham collapse this summer while Fabio Paratici seeks his departure. Sky Sports claim Spurs’ managing director has not received any concrete offers for a player without a future at the club under Antonio Conte.
Spurs’ £32m signing from Real Madrid in 2020 has also longed to leave the Premier League team this summer. Mundo Deportivo note he desires a return to Sevilla after a loan spell in 2019/20. But Los Nervionenses cannot afford the defender, so offered a loan to buy move.

La Dea could offer Antonio Conte chance to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi
To get around the high fees required to sign Reguilon, Atalanta are considering whether or not to return to Tottenham and offer to include Ruslan Malinovskyi in part-exchange. The north Londoners highly appreciate the Ukraine midfielder Nottingham Forest also admire.
Reports by Tutto Atalanta have suggested Tottenham have overtaken the City Ground side to sign Malinovskyi. He is ready to move away from Bergamo to join an important club. But La Dea demand his permanent transfer, whilst Spurs prefer his loan with the option to buy.
Offering Malinovskyi in part-exchange for Reguilon, then, may see Atalanta and Tottenham sign a player they are interested in. But personal terms could prove an issue with Reguilon. While 29-year-old Malinovskyi has already given his ok to joining Conte’s side this summer.
