Tottenham Hotspur want Ruslan Malinovskyi and are now closing in on beating Nottingham Forest to the Atalanta star.
Tottenham love to sign players from the Italian market under Fabio Paratici.
We have already seen Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Ivan Perisic and now Destiny Udogie arrive from Italian clubs.
Paratici is an expert in the Italian market and has great contacts back in his homeland.
Much of Tottenham’s business was done early but it now looks like another signing could be on the way to North London.
Tottenham Hotspur want Ruslan Malinovskyi
This one seems to have come out of nowhere but Tottenham are now being heavily linked with a move for Atalanta star Malinovskyi.
Tutto Atalanta report that Tottenham are ‘ready to close’ a deal for Malinovskyi but there are some problems.
Atalanta want to sell Malinovskyi now, whereas Tottenham are proposing a loan with option or even obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Malinovskyi is understood to have given his approval to the move and is interested in joining an ‘important club’ like Tottenham.
There is clearly some work to be done here but Tottenham do have great links to Atalanta.
Both Gollini and Romero joined Tottenham on loan from Atalanta with options to buy; Gollini’s wasn’t taken up but Romero’s will be in time.
Paratici is now seemingly looking to do a very similar deal for Malinovskyi, who was a target before Nottingham Forest before Spurs moved in.
Malinovskyi, 29, is unlike anything Tottenham currently have.
Primarily a number 10, Malinovskyi is an outstanding free kick taker and racked up 10 goals and seven assists last season.
The Ukrainian international has been hailed by Tony Dorigo for appearing to have a ‘cannon’ in his left foot, with Malinovskyi known for his long-range shooting ability.
This is certainly an interesting move for Tottenham, and one that could give Antonio Conte another outstanding threat in the final third.
