Tottenham Hotspur may keep paying part of Tanguy Ndombele’s wage for the midfielder to join Paris Saint-Germain in a loan to buy transfer in January, according to The Guardian.
Spurs are in talks with PSG over the terms of a deal to send the Frenchman back to Ligue 1. He moved to north London from Lyon in 2019 under now Les Parisiens manager Mauricio Pochettino for a club-record £54m. The fee could also rise to £63m if he meets all add-ons.
But Ndombele has struggled to establish a key presence at the club and may leave halfway through his five-year contract. He has not featured since supporters jeered his substitution in the FA Cup against Morecambe. Fans booed as the 25-year-old strolled off while losing.

Ndombele is now keen to reunite with Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain if they can agree terms with Tottenham for his transfer. The move is likely a loan for the rest of the season, but may include an option for PSG to make it permanent if they decide he is worth buying.
Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are currently discussing how much of Ndombele’s pay Pochettino’s side will cover during a loan transfer. Additionally, RMC Sport have reported Spurs would prefer the Ligue 1 outfit to cover his £200k-a-week salary in its entirety.
Alternatively, PSG have suggested a player-exchange but despite Spurs’ interest, Leandro Paredes has refused to feature in any such agreement. The Argentine playmaker has only made 13 outing so far this term, starting seven. He is also yet to score in all competitions.
Tottenham spring no surprise wanting PSG to pay Ndombele’s wage in full
Tottenham asking Paris Saint-Germain to pay Ndombele’s wage in full for a loan transfer is no surprise. Per Spotrac, the seven-cap France international is Spurs’ joint-top earner with Harry Kane on £200k-a-week. But he has not justified the salary with his recent displays.

Ndombele – who Jose Mourinho called ‘magnificent’, via the Daily Mail – has scored twice and assisted once so far this season. He has also only started 10 of his 16 outings in all competitions. While also playing the 15th-most Premier League minutes by Spurs a player.
Between Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte’s tenures, Ndombele has amassed 486-minutes of top-flight action. Only Harry Winks (438), Steven Bergwijn (322), Giovani Lo Celso (233), Ryan Sessegnon (165), Matt Doherty (144), Bryan Gil (85) and Joe Rodon (78) have fewer.
